Natural wax Crayons.
Along time ago I decided learn to make crayons, I bought a course online with Clara by shopcopito who I met through instagram. She taught me the principle bases to start to make crayons, what kind of wax to use, the mix among them. I was really happy with the workshop because it was what I expect it. She is really amazing because she has three children's and she is the owner of her own business.
The principle and important thing to make crayons is to obtain the pigments through natural elements, such as plants, sand and waste food. I had taken a course with Anabel Torres, Mexican artist and fashion designer, who taught me to obtain lacquer pigments from natural elements. She has some courses on her website which you can find on Instagram with the name Antesis. She also has a two courses about naturals dye and botanical dye on Domestika a website with a lot courses online.
I have been testing for a month and a half, performing tests with different wax and pigments, working with lacquer pigments and, finally, the last weekend I got the I obtained 12 colors from cochineal, tumeric, indigo, marigold, charcoal, beets, madder root, and mix colors from them. Obtaining colors from nature is really fantastic I thought about everything that nature gives me and allows me to work .
Now I am working on the packaging. I have an idea in my head and tomorrow, after I finish english classes, I am going to work on that! I am very excite because I hope to have them ready soon and put them on my Etsy shop.
I hope you are very excited like me for these crayons that you can to buy soon.
Always thanks a lot to my boyfriend and husband David because he is a big support to me and my business Biuriful Tuktu, without him this would not be possible. Thank you for taking a minutes to read my blog, visit my online shop on Etsy, and support my little business. I send hugs with a lot love.
